Sacred Trust: Family and Children

A strong ummah requires strong families. Yet this fundamental unit of love and affection is under attack. The divorce rate for Muslim couples rivals that of the general population. After the initial spark subsides, many couples find themselves in an unhappy, dry relationship. We wonder “where did things go wrong?”

Parenting in the modern era is no less complicated. Many of us are grappling with the consequences of rebelliousness, disobedience, negative peer pressure, drug and behavioral addictions, screen time management, materialism, body image issues, and more.  We know that parenting has always been hard, but now the environment is stacked against us.

Spouses and children do not come with instructional manuals, but there must be a better way than just winging it. We ask: “If I can only get through to them. If they would only listen to me.”

While having an absolutely serene home life with a perfect spouse and and always obedient children is not a realistic objective in this world, we don't have to succumb to helplessness and hopelessness. We can make it better. We can strive for Ihsan in our family life. Come explore practical tools and strategies for raising a strong family that can survive the multiple storms of our times.
